Workstation Desk

The Workstation Desk is a personal project of mine, on which I’ve worked for years. Now it’s getting real.

Concept.

Whether in the office or at home, powerful computers produce a lot of excess heat, are often noisy, unattractive, and associated with cable clutter. Solutions to these problems - such as in-display computers - come with limitations in hardware choice, as well as temperature issues and lack of upgrade options. This leads to unnecessary e-waste and the discarding of hardware that could have been used for years to come.

The Workstation Desk offers an alternative that still lets you fully customize your hardware to your work and software, and combines that freedom with the ergonomic benefits of stand-up desks, and the neat look of integrated solutions like iMacs.

Ergonomic.

The computer is housed in a drawer that makes maintenance and upgrading a simple process. The computer, 3 monitors, the table itself, and up to 2 other devices can all be powered from a single cable.

In addition, the table offers those with a penchant for technology the opportunity to prominently display their system. The 185cm x 90cm glass top allows you to see the most important components, while unsightly components disappear under plain covers.

Simple.

Despite the large number of functions and connectable devices, the entire table with all its components requires only a single power cable. In addition, the master-slave configuration of the power distribution saves all power consumption that would occur in standby mode.

Flexible.

The high-quality aluminum panels to which the computer hardware is mounted have been produced according to current standards for case manufacturing, and are therefore compatible with almost all components. Should these standards change in the future, the mounting plates are easily replaceable.
